Suicide Prevention-The Solution Focused Approach

Training courses for foster carers

Many professionals and carers are fazed when they are confronted by someone who says, “I don’t want to live anymore.”

This workshop is intended specifically, to reduce further, the suicide rate amongst young people/clients/service users (SUs).

Participants will be provided with a unique approach to the person who is having suicidal ideas, which both reduces the likelihood of further suicidal thinking and, at the same time, reduces the sense of burden on the health professional or carer.

A range of specialised solution focused (SF) tools and techniques are learnt and practised at this workshop. These can be implemented immediately into participants’ practice/personal contexts.

This two-day course meets the requirements of the Training, Support & Development Standards for foster care: 1.a, 1.b, 1.2 , 1.3, 2.1, 2.3, 3.4, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1,5.2, 5.4, 5.5, 6.2, 7.3, 7.4
