Feedback from Supervising Social Workers’ regarding training courses provided by Ian Johnson (Simply Fostering)
Allegations: A not uncontentious course, one that challenged individual’s perceptions and instigated much healthy discussion and debate. A very positive course that has received some very positive feedback from some of my carers. It has managed to make carers really think about the environment they create within the home and even now a number of months after the course is the basis of good discussion in our supervision sessions. Quite possibly the best course my agency has provided to date in my time here in my opinion.
Parent and Child: A most informative course in an area I knew little of. Presented with confidence and of much interest. Drew upon the trainer’s extensive experience in the area and presented recent areas of research well. I felt that the training enabled the carers to explore their own values when considering the parent and the impact of their socio-economic environment upon their parenting skills. I felt that the training was delivered in a very engaging way and relevant to the Carers current level of experience.
Given the above feedback from staff and the positive feedback from the foster carers we have booked Ian to deliver several more courses.
