Internet safety

Training courses for foster carers

The Internet can be a wonderful resource for children and all those who care for children. Children and carers can use it to research, communicate  and  play interactive games.

Children who are old enough to punch in a few letters on the keyboard can literally access the world. But that access can also pose hazards.

Its important for carers and support workers to understand the risks and be aware of what children see and hear on the Internet, who they meet, and what they share about themselves on-line.

Just like any safety issue, it’s wise to talk with your children providing safe caring, discussing  your concerns, and to take advantage of resources to protect them, which this course will enable you to do.

This 1 day course meets the requirements of the Training, Support and Development Standards for foster care: 1.3, 1.4, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.5, 3.4, 4.1, 1.2, 1.3, 4.4, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5 and 7.4
