Training courses for foster carers

Children and young people living within the care system, experience many significant and different losses throughout their journey in care.

All professionals working with LAC, need to have an understanding of how bereavement, separation and loss can impact on the general well-being of children and young people, including their development and on their behaviours.

This course looks at the bereavement and loss process, providing information, guidance and strategies when working with children and young people who have experienced major loss within their lives.

This one-day course meets the requirements of the Training, Support & Development Standards for foster care :  1.a, 1.b, 1.2 , 1.3, 2.1, 2.3, 3.4, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1,5.2, 5.4, 5.5, 6.2, 7.3, 7.4
