Training courses for foster carers

Foster placement breakdowns can be incredibly challenging and distressing for all of those involved.

This course focuses on many different areas of the ‘breakdown situation’ and provides foster carers with the opportunity to actually look at the processes involved, whilst caring for a child in this difficult situation.

The course focuses on the impact of a young persons behaviour and how that affects the way the foster carers respond, which can be in a negative manner.

The course enables carers to think about disruption meetings and family meetings, providing positive messages to the child and helping carers look at their own emotions, feelings and support needs at this difficult time.

This 1 day course meets the requirements of the Training, Support and Development Standards for foster care:
